Christmas in July Jazz Brunch, is a benefit for the Christian Noël Roseberry Memorial Scholarship Fund and organized by Donna Johnson, MBA! This special event is attended and supported by some of Chattanooga’s elite, as a pathway to funding college for a student in need and keeping the legacy of Christian Noël alive. Christmas might not seem like it fits in July, but I promise you – step into this room just one time you’ll see that the spirit of community, holiday cheer and gratitude is something that your summer might have been missing all along.
Her pain points:
❎ Christmas in July Jazz Brunch has been growing and wanted to elevate the look this year to show maturity, elegance and prominence
❎ Donna and family had been designing most of the materials themselves in Microsoft Office and year-to-year the design kept shifting
❎ Previous designer found on Fiverr had limitations (logo only), took a while to get in touch with and couldn’t rehire for all the other design needs
What she hired me for:
✅ Design the look for the event materials, including – sponsor letter, event ticket, event handbill, flyer, slide show template and social media post
✅ Elevate the brand identity, a blend of Christmas and black excellence
✅ Free up time and space for the family to focus on other aspects of the event
💥 How I overdelivered on my brand promise: Offered three extra rounds of edits to client beyond standard two, until we reached a point where designs matched vision; worked with a local printer to print samples to test designs; and sent client free font files to download and use again for brand consistency
It was a honor working with this family and witnessing how through their loss of a loved one, they were creating so many new opportunities for others.
